Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of crews involved in roadway construction, including grading, paving, excavation, and site preparation.

Provide on‑site leadership to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.

Oversee and assist with the spreading, rolling, compacting, and finishing of asphalt, base, and subgrade materials.

Monitor work progress, crew performance, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide daily tasks.

Ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment including graders, rollers, pavers, loaders, and skid steers.

Accurately complete daily reports detailing crew hours, equipment usage, production quantities, and cost codes.

Communicate regularly with Project Superintendents and Project Managers.

Participate in and promote safety training and ensure jobsite compliance.

Conduct quality control checks to ensure work meets contract standards.

Preferred Crew and Qualifications
  • Dozer Operator
  • Motor Grader Operator
  • Roller Operator
  • Excavator Operator
  • General Laborers
  • MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) Personnel
  • 3 years of roadway construction experience
  • 2 years in a Foreman or supervisory role overseeing field crews
  • Experience overseeing subcontractor paving operations
  • FDOT experience preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Strong familiarity with equipment and tools used in roadway construction
  • Ability to lead, organize, and evaluate crew performance
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
  • OSHA 30‑Hour Certification
  • CPR Certification
  • Physical demands: frequent standing, walking, and use of hands to operate tools and equipment; must be able to lift and carry materials in outdoor jobsite conditions
