About the Role
Harbor View Creative Learning Center is looking for a Teacher's Assistant to join our team! No experience is required, but you must be willing to take DCF 45 training hours in the first year of employment.
Pay starts between $16.00 - $18.00 based on education and experience.
Responsibilities- Help implement the lesson plan created by the lead teacher.
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children.
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem.
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments.
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc.).
- Track children's progress and report to parents (Tadpoles App).
- Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background.
- Collaborate with other educators.
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
- Experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
- 45 DCF Training Hours (one year to complete all courses and exams).
- CDA preferred.
- Understanding of the principles of child development.
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms.
- Excellent communication and instructional skills.
- Ability to act as a mediator between children.
- Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable.
- Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain.
