Title: Elementary School Physical Education Teacher
Reports To: Principal
Do you want to work in an environment where student needs are at the forefront of all decision-making? At The dePaul School for Dyslexia, we focus on identifying the needs of our learners and filling in specific learning gaps utilizing research-based, explicit, sequential, multisensory teaching methods. We support our staff with ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices for assessing teaching students with language-based learning differences.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Develops and implements curriculum and shows written evidence of preparation as required for Physical Education.
- Presents the subject matter according to guidelines established by school administration.
- Plans and uses appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment.
- Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Uses technologies in the teaching/learning/ assessing process.
- Consistently assesses student achievement through formal and informal assessments.
- Supervise students at all times.
- Coordinate teacher responsibilities with supervisor including lunch duty, carline, parent teacher conferences and open houses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Experience working with children with language-based learning differences preferred.
