POSITION TITLE: Teacher

FLSA: Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet certification requirements and the items below

REPORTS TO: Principal and/or other Supervisor

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: New teachers prox 193 days; returning teachers prox 188 days with benefits available.

• Possess a clear testimony of salvation and mature biblical knowledge.
• Provide references that attest to a Christ-like and biblically directed lifestyle.
• Affirm LCC Doctrinal Statement.
• Attends LCC or other local evangelical churches.
• Possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in secondary education.
• Preferred candidate has a degree in English and or Literature.
• Coaching experience a plus.
• Certification for AP Lit or AP English a plus.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Represent the school in a professional and biblical manner in all aspects and areas of life.
• Implement LCS instructional objectives.
• Maintain student grade books, records, and curriculum maps within required time frames.
• Prepare and submit weekly lesson plans by the deadline.
• Attend and participate in all faculty meetings.
• Participate in other areas of LCC/LCS ministry outside of the classroom.
• Communicate with peers, parents, and students in a Christ-like manner.
• Comply with School Policies and Procedures.
• Effectively utilizes all instructional technology.
• Demonstrate Biblical knowledge and a Christian Worldview that is integrated into everyday instruction.

OTHER

JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Abide by ethics statutes, school board policies, and regulations.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Implement a school-wide behavior management plan.
• Serve on committees as assigned.
• Remain current on instructional practices in education (e.g., instructional technology).
• As assigned by the ministry.
