Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support aerospace instrumentation and avionics projects. This role involves translating design requirements into analog and digital board designs, including component selection, simulation, schematic capture, layout, documentation, and development of test procedures. The engineer will ensure system integration and proper function of boards within aerospace platforms, collaborate with manufacturing teams for production test support and troubleshooting, and follow structured development processes to meet industry guidelines.

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering field
- Minimum 7 years of board design experience, preferably within aerospace organizations
- Experience in design and implementation for aerospace applications
- Familiarity with data and power bus architectures and microprocessor implementation
- Understanding the framework behind FAA requirements DO0178C/ DO-254
- Look for troubleshooting experience: components within circuit boards, determining if it’s a hardware issue – root cause analysis
- Research for alternates or replacements for obsolete components – obsolescence material
- Strong analytical and communication skills for evaluating information and providing customer support
- PCB layout experience with Altium, PADS, or Allegro
- Experience supporting production test and troubleshooting in manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with DO-178C / DO-254 development guidelines
- Solid analytical skills and ability to interface with cross-functional teams
- Prior experience in aerospace board design from an aerospace organization
