Commercial Lender

Promote the Bank and its products and services by planning, implementing, directing and administering the marketing and operational efforts of the Bank in an efficient and profitable manner to meet the Bank’s goals and objectives.

• Identify new loan opportunities through business development efforts;
• Cross sells all applicable financial products, seeking to develop and service desirable and profitable loans;
• Solicit, negotiate and underwrite loans, coordinating closing;
• Work with customers to explain the loan process and answer questions, advising borrowers on financial status and methods of payment;
• Monitor the credit quality of the loan portfolios to ensure that proper credit grades identifying the level of risk to each loan is assigned; recommend grade changes where the risk has increased or decreased since its inception;
• Monitor past due loans and collect payments; report all loans more than 10 days past due to the loan committee and coordinate collection efforts when problems or difficulties are encountered;
• Develop referral relationships with realtors, builders and other sources to proactively solicit business and conduct sales-related activities in order to meet loan origination goals;
• Evaluate, authorize and recommend approval of commercial loans and lines of credit;
• Demonstrate an understanding of and follow established Board policies, procedures, and regulations, including those defined by BSA, AML, CIP and OFAC, cognizant of transactions, inquiries that appear suspicious, obtaining reasonable and verifiable explanations, notifying the Compliance Officer when necessary; ensure section 103.33 of BSA is maintained on loans >$10,000; completion of all web-based compliance training within established time frame.

• Degree in business or equivalent experience required
• Five years’ experience in the lending field with formal credit training and strong analytical skills
• Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, cash flow, debt service coverage and sources of repayment
• Strong business development and marketing skills, communication and negotiating skills.

• Seven or more years of commercial lending experience, preferably within a community or regional banking environment.
• Established network of referral sources and a demonstrated record of developing new business and growing a profitable loan portfolio.
• Experience underwriting and managing commercial real estate and commercial and industrial loans, including complex credit structures and problem-loan resolution.

  Evaluates financial statements, cash flow, collateral, repayment capacity, and overall credit risk.
• Relationship Management:
  Develops trusted client relationships through responsive, consultative, and white‑glove service.
• Decision‑Making:
  Uses sound judgment to structure, recommend, and manage loans in alignment with Bank policies and risk standards.
• Communication and Negotiation:
  Clearly explains lending requirements, negotiates terms effectively, and collaborates across departments.
