Position Summary:
At Florida Orthopaedic Institute, Medical Assistants are more than clinical support, they are essential members of the patient care team. In this full‑time role, you’ll work directly with a provider to deliver efficient, high‑quality orthopedic care in a fast‑paced clinical environment. You’ll assist with exams, procedures, and patient education while ensuring each individual feels supported and cared for throughout their visit.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Support- Prepare exam rooms and ensure they are fully stocked and organized for the day
- Escort patients to rooms, take vital signs, and update EMR with accurate documentation
- Assist with in‑office procedures including injections, dressing changes, and suture removals
- Support provider during exams by anticipating needs and maintaining patient comfort
- Educate patients on post‑visit instructions and coordinate follow‑ups as directed
- Collaborate with fellow CAs, providers, and administrative staff to keep the clinic running smoothly
- Communicate clearly with patients and teammates to reduce delays and confusion
- Float to nearby clinics as needed to support staffing coverage and team success
- Ensure timely, accurate charting and quality measure completion in Athena EMR
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards
- Participate in training, team huddles, and clinic initiatives as assigned

- You’re organized, tech‑savvy, and committed to accurate documentation

- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Medical Assistant diploma or certification (required)
- BLS certification (required within 90 days of hire and FOI offers in‑house training)
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel locally for training/coverage
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management skills
- Experience in orthopedics, trauma, or high‑volume clinical settings
- Familiarity with Athena EMR or similar systems
- Prior experience assisting with procedures such as injections or suture removal
- A stable, full‑time role in a respected clinical setting

- No check‑in/check‑out duties (clinical role focused)
- Onboarding at our North Tampa clinic followed by on‑site training at your assigned location
