As a Physical Therapist Aide/ Technician, your primary duties typically include:- Supporting therapy sessions:
You'll help set up equipment and prepare treatment areas for patients. During sessions, you will assist the therapist by demonstrating exercises, providing modalities, and ensuring patient safety. - Documenting patient progress:
Accurate record-keeping is essential. You'll document patient responses to treatment, progress in exercises, and any concerns or observations noted during sessions. - Maintaining equipment and supplies:
Keeping therapy areas clean and organized, sterilizing equipment, and ensuring adequate supplies are available are part of your responsibilities. - Communicating with patients:
You may provide instructions to patients regarding their home exercises or follow-up appointments. Clear communication and patient education are crucial for successful therapy outcomes. - Collaborating with the therapy team:
You'll work closely with physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients. - Working 1on1 with patients in their care program directed directly from their PT.
- * This position allows for Enhanced Education and application in the Physical Therapy world.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Able to work with a variety of patients and medical professionals.
- Fluent English.
- Ability to handle patients with various personalities and physical abilities.
- Team skills to work well with others.
- Dedication to continuous learning and development.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to ensure patients feel comfortable and at ease.
- Physical Demands: while performing the duties of this job, one must be able to stand for long periods of time.
