Summary for Director Admitting and Financial Assistance:

  • Responsible for achieving a balance between new technology, department demands, cost effectiveness, setting goals forecasting, charity programs, managing accounts receivable, and policy/procedure development.
  • Responsible to collaborate with all lines of business in Bay Care including Outpatient Imaging, Outreach Lab, Bay Care Medical Group, Urgent Care Centers and Behavioral Health.
  • The core registration responsibilities include the timely, accurate and effective registration of patients with emphasis on providing a seamless registration process from scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification, authorization, financial counseling, up-front cash collections, denials mitigation.
  • Works to ensure compliance with JACAHO, federal and state requirements.
  • The core Financial Assistance responsibilities are to interact with hospital senior leadership and directors, outside Florida State and County agencies, Government Relations, the media, Community organizations.
  • The Financial Assistance program is aimed at assisting uninsured patients in finding financial resources to ensure future continuity of care, to pay current and past medical bills, and charity applications, as appropriate.
  • Therefore, give input for community needs, legislative issues, healthcare reform, IRS Community Hospital requirements, revenue management projects, ensures policy & practice standardization in all areas of Patient Access/Admitting/Registration/FA across all facilities.
  • The Director will be a key promoter of service excellence to ensure a positive patient experience. Report directly to the Vice President for Patient Financial Solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Required - 10 years
    - Accounts Receivable;
  • Required - 12 years
    - Healthcare Management in related field;
    Or - 15 years - related experience in lieu of Bachelors.

Education:

  • Required
    - Bachelors Degree in related field
  • Preferred
    - Masters Degree in related field
