Role Description This full-time, on-site Pharmacist role is a floating role and supports the daily operations of community-based specialty pharmacy. The Pharmacist will verify and dispense prescriptions, review medication profiles for safety and appropriateness, and counsel patients on proper medication use, side effects, and adherence. Responsibilities include coordinating with prescribers and care teams, managing prior authorizations and insurance-related issues, and ensuring compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations.
The role also involves maintaining accurate records, overseeing pharmacy technicians, supporting inventory management, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. The Pharmacist is expected to uphold Bell Pharmacy's focus on underserved communities by providing respectful, accessible, and culturally sensitive care.
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist license in the state of Florida (or eligibility for licensure) and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical pharmacy practice, preferably in specialty or community pharmacy settings.
- Knowledge of medication therapy management, drug interactions, and disease state management.
- Strong patient counseling and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and compassionately.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, prescribers, and other healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and proficiency in prescription verification, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management systems, electronic health records, and insurance billing processes.
- Commitment to serving underserved populations and advancing healthcare advocacy and affordability.
- Willingness to work on-site in Largo, FL and maintain flexible availability based on patient and pharmacy needs.
