Morton Plant Hospital, a nationally recognized leader in patient care and clinical innovation, is seeking skilled and compassionate Acute Physical Therapists to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based physical therapy services to patients in an acute hospital setting, supporting recovery from surgery, injury, or illness.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for patients with acute medical conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and functional independence (ADL’s).
- Deliver therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, gait training, and patient education.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to coordinate care and optimize outcomes.
- Document patient progress and treatment in the electronic medical record system in accordance with Bay Care standards.
- Participate in discharge planning and provide education to patients and families.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and state regulations.
- Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Florida Physical Therapist license.
- BLS certification required.
- Acute care experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations in acute settings are welcome.
- Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and teamwork skills.
- Experience with neurological, orthopedic, or cardiopulmonary patient populations.
- Familiarity with Bay Care EMR systems and documentation protocols.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment.
