Surgical Technologist Apprentice

Summary:

Functions as an OR Care Technician based upon skills acquired through surgical technology coursework of a Surgical Technologist Apprentice Program. Works under the direction and supervision of a Surgical Technologist — Certified Preceptor or a Surgical Technologist — Non Certified Preceptor. Must be enrolled in the Bay Care Surgical Technologist Apprentice school program.

Education/

Experience:

• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent (HS/GED).

• Meets the requirements of the OR Care Technician job description.

• Completed basic principles of surgical technology coursework in a Surgical Technologist program.

• Must be enrolled in the Bay Care Surgical Technologist Apprentice school program.

• Skills designated under the Surgical Technologist Apprentice framework must be validated upon hire or transfer.
