In this role, the HR Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the Human Resources department by assisting the HR Director in implementing various HR programs and processes. This position will be responsible for a wide range of duties including maintaining HRIS updated, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, 401k and benefits administration, leaves of absence, WC, and general HR functions.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
  • Assist in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries and ongoing reports for Director of HR, and other departments as needed.
  • Conduct routine general HR audits for compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist and be primary back up to the Talent Acquisition Specialist in recruiting efforts.
  • Assist with processing employee terminations and with preparation of the performance review process.
  • Assist with the review and/or creation of SOP’s, and power point presentations.
  • Assist in managing compliance of all Federal/State/local employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA and other types of leaves, OSHA 300, and WC and maintain spreadsheets.
What You Bring
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or a related field preferred. Or one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • 5 or more years of experience in HR.
  • Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations and payroll practices.
  • Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, excellent organization and time management skills
  • Solid work history that demonstrates reliability and proficiency in Microsoft products a must.
