The Role You'll Play to Create Success

We are excited to announce our search for a full-time Director of Data Strategy and Operations
! This role leads the development and execution of a comprehensive, enterprise-wide data strategy, overseeing governance, quality, privacy compliance, analytics capabilities, and modern data architecture. It collaborates closely with business and technology leaders to drive value through data, while building high‑performing teams, optimizing operations, and providing executive-level insight into data initiatives and outcomesat Frank Winston Crum.

  • Defines and executes a comprehensive data strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Leads cross-functional data initiatives, partnering with business and technology leaders to drive value through data.
  • Develops a roadmap for data capabilities, including governance, analytics, architecture, and tooling.
  • Establishes and oversees data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Champions data quality initiatives and drives the adoption of data stewardship across departments.
  • Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal policies.
  • Builds and leads a high-performing data operations team responsible for metadata management, data cataloging, lineage, and MDM (Master Data Management).
  • Oversees the development and management of KPIs to monitor data usage, health, and integrity.
  • Drives operational efficiency through process automation, data integration, and tooling improvements.
  • Collaborates with IT and engineering teams to define and maintain scalable data infrastructure and architecture.
  • Leads the evaluation and implementation of modern data platforms, tools, and technologies (e.g., cloud data warehouses, data lakes).
  • Serves as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure data needs are met and aligned with business goals.
  • Provides executive-level insights and updates on data initiatives and outcomes.
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • The Attributes We Seek
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or data operations, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Azure and Cloud required.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise data strategy initiatives.
  • Certifications such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or DGSP (Data Governance & Stewardship Professional), preferred not required.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., Insurance) is preferred not required.
