Lithionics is a leader in advanced battery solutions, committed to innovation, quality, and sustainability. We are looking for a motivated Supply Chain Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in purchasing and supply chain within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Supply Chain Intern, you will support the procurement team in the following areas:
Project Tasks & Activities
1. Data Collection
- Gather international freight invoices, current contracts, and historical shipment data
- Identify frequently used shipping lanes (e.g., China → U.S.)
- Collect quotes from selected freight forwarders
- Analyze forwarder capabilities, rates, and service reliability
- Benchmark transit times across multiple carriers
- Research international logistics trends (port congestion, cost fluctuations, etc.)
- Build lane-level cost comparison tables
- Identify cost outliers and root causes
- Evaluate savings scenarios (route changes, carrier changes, mode shifts)
- Develop actionable recommendations for procurement and logistics teams
- Prioritize opportunities based on cost impact + implementation effort
- Identify risks and mitigation strategies
- Prepare a professional report summarizing research, analysis, and recommended strategies
- Present conclusions to procurement and supply chain leadership
- Supply chain and logistics analysis
- Data modeling and cost benchmarking
- Vendor evaluation and negotiation preparation
- Understanding of international freight operations
- Professional presentation and reporting skills
- Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field.
- Basic knowledge of procurement and supply chain management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to procurement and supply chain methodologies.
