Solder Assembler

Job Summary

The Panther Group is seeking an experienced Solder Assembler for a leading electronics manufacturer in Clearwater, FL. This hands‑on role requires strong soldering skills, SMT assembly experience, and a sharp eye for quality.

If you have experience identifying solder defects, performing touch‑up/rework, and working in a fast‑paced electronics production environment, we want to hear from you.

• Perform precise manual soldering, touch‑up, and rework on SMT assemblies
• Use soldering irons, hot‑air tools, reflow equipment, and solder‑pot systems
• Identify and correct solder defects such as:
  • Tomb stoning
  • Solder bridges
  • Voids
  • Insufficient wetting
  • Solder balls
• Conduct visual inspections to ensure workmanship and product quality
• Utilize AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) systems when applicable
• Maintain and calibrate soldering tools and related equipment
• Document defects, corrective actions, and process improvements
• Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams
• Follow all safety, ESD, and quality procedures
• Support continuous improvement initiatives

• Documented professional soldering experience
• Experience with SMT assembly and solder rework
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/work instructions
• Familiarity with IPC workmanship standards
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity

• Current or previous IPC-A-610 Certification
• Current or previous IPC J-STD Certification
• AOI experience
• Experience in electronics manufacturing environments

$22–$26 per hour DOE
