Sheet Metal Fabricator – CECO Environmental
Responsibilities- Set up and operate hydraulic press brake to form sheet metal and plate parts.
- Set up and operate plate rolls for material sizes ranging from 20 gauge to 1/4" plate.
- Set up and operate sheet metal shear; calculate optimal cuts to minimize scrap.
- MIG weld components from 20 gauge to 3/8" plate, including stainless and carbon steel materials.
- Read and interpret assembly prints and procedures.
- Perform welding and fabrication work in tight confined spaces, such as inside small tanks.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required; trade or technical school degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of sheet metal fabrication experience.
- Strong mechanical skills and basic mathematics.
- Ability to read assembly prints and procedures.
- Punctual, self‑motivated, and independent worker.
- Team player capable of working with a diverse group of people.
- Graduate of a welding school (e.g., PTECH).
- Welding certifications are a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge and ability to read assembly prints and procedures.
- Basic understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost management.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including spelling, grammar, and composition rules.
- Understanding of customer service principles and processes.
- Perform tasks that require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and repetitive motions.
- Concentrated mental and visual attention needed for complex tasks requiring accurate quality specifications.
- Compliance with company attendance standards.
- Heavy work: up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Very heavy work: more than 100 pounds occasionally, more than 50 pounds frequently, more than 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Exposure to mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noise, and travel. The facility is not air‑conditioned.
