Sheet Metal Fabricator – CECO Environmental

• Set up and operate hydraulic press brake to form sheet metal and plate parts.
• Set up and operate plate rolls for material sizes ranging from 20 gauge to 1/4" plate.
• Set up and operate sheet metal shear; calculate optimal cuts to minimize scrap.
• MIG weld components from 20 gauge to 3/8" plate, including stainless and carbon steel materials.
• Read and interpret assembly prints and procedures.
• Perform welding and fabrication work in tight confined spaces, such as inside small tanks.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED required; trade or technical school degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of sheet metal fabrication experience.
• Strong mechanical skills and basic mathematics.
• Ability to read assembly prints and procedures.
• Punctual, self‑motivated, and independent worker.
• Team player capable of working with a diverse group of people.

• Graduate of a welding school (e.g., PTECH).
• Welding certifications are a plus.

• Mechanical knowledge and ability to read assembly prints and procedures.
• Basic understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost management.
• Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including spelling, grammar, and composition rules.
• Understanding of customer service principles and processes.

• Perform tasks that require typing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and repetitive motions.
• Concentrated mental and visual attention needed for complex tasks requiring accurate quality specifications.
• Compliance with company attendance standards.

• Heavy work: up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Very heavy work: more than 100 pounds occasionally, more than 50 pounds frequently, more than 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Exposure to mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noise, and travel. The facility is not air‑conditioned.
