Job DescriptionPDS Defense, Inc. is seeking an Electronics Assembly Technician. The role involves setting up test apparatus and conducting tests of electronic circuit card assemblies, RF circuits, and subassembly units following established methods, procedures, standards, and sequences. The technician will lay out and assemble units for production electronic equipment according to designs and specifications, adjust and calibrate electronic assembly systems as required, and correct malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts.
Tools used include hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices. The technician determines the types of tests to be performed, approves and suggests modifications to testing equipment, and analyzes test results to evaluate performance of products and equipment. The job also includes assisting engineers in design and development of test procedures for new products and recommending product improvements or manufacturing modifications.
Monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures may also be performed.
Tasks include troubleshooting to the component level, utilizing schematic diagrams to isolate failures on analog and digital circuitry, and applying strong knowledge of solid‑state devices and micro‑circuitry. The technician works in a dynamic production environment, producing at a high level to support customer schedules and utilizing various measurement devices including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, frequency standards, and signal generators.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
- 1 year of direct experience with testing electronic assemblies.
- Proficient in component‑level troubleshooting of solid‑state and digital circuits.
- Flying probe/high power test experience.
- Ability to use Microsoft Suite and other data collection programs to document maintenance actions accurately.
- Familiarity with radar systems.
- Vibration and thermal ESS experience of both circuit card assemblies and sub‑assemblies.
- RF troubleshooting.
- Digital circuitry troubleshooting.
- Flying probe operation experience.
