Test Engineer, Electronics Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
As a Test Technician - Level 4 here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and reporting system and board‑level components with minimal supervision. You will perform automated system‑level testing by following detailed written procedures and leveraging on‑the‑job experience across multiple segments.
You will report directly to the Test Team Lead, and you’ll work out of our Clearwater, FL location on an on‑site work schedule.
In this role, you will impact product quality and reliability by leading root cause identification and correction of system, station, and software issues, ensuring timely and accurate diagnostics and repairs.
Responsibilities- Perform automated system-level testing in accordance with detailed procedures and practical experience.
- Distinguish between system, station, and software events/issues and lead root cause identification and correction efforts.
- Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting using auxiliary test equipment including oscilloscopes, volt meters, spectrum analyzers, and noise analyzers.
- Perform Component Circuit Assembly (CCA)-level troubleshooting, isolating and resolving issues down to component level for repair or replacement.
- Disposition failures for repair and provide detailed information within e‑factory to meet reliability requirements.
- Manage varying priorities effectively, demonstrating strong multitasking abilities and excellent communication skills.
- Exercise high judgment and discretionary decision‑making across varied assignments.
- Utilize tools, computers, and office equipment as necessary to complete job‑related tasks.
- Write detailed instructions on all work performed and operate autonomously.
- Interact with and direct other Test Team members and Engineering Support personnel.
- Ability to read schematics, follow written procedures, and apply computer skills and technical knowledge to competently troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Manual dexterity and proficiency in using mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation tools.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Experience in system-level and board-level testing and troubleshooting in a technical environment.
- Ability to distinguish between system, station, and software issues and lead root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, volt meters, spectrum analyzers, and noise analyzers.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and write detailed work instructions.
