Job Description Summary

GE Infrastructure Aviation is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Assembler (Solder
3) in Clearwater, FL to perform complex electronic and electro‑mechanical assembly, rework, and soldering of CCAs, panels, cables and related hardware using established procedures and 10X microscope inspection. The ideal candidate must be able to achieve J‑STD‑001 and IPC‑A‑610 Class 3 certification quickly, demonstrate strong through‑hole, SMT and jumper‑wire soldering skills, and follow operator verification and IPC 7711/7721 rework practices.

This position requires a high‑school education (or equivalent), hands‑on electronics assembly experience, the ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work overtime, and comfort handling hazardous materials as needed.

3) and play a hands‑on role in building, repairing, and testing the electronic assemblies that power the future of flight. We’re looking for a meticulous, safety‑focused technician with strong soldering and rework skills who thrives working on complex electro‑mechanical hardware and contributing to high‑quality aerospace systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electronic, electro‑mechanical, and mechanical assembly of modules, circuit card assemblies (CCAs), panels, drawers, frames, and cable assemblies using established procedures, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Execute complex rework, de‑soldering, and repairs to Class 3 quality standards; perform inspection and testing of assemblies.
  • Prepare, route, form, and solder jumper wires and through‑hole components; hand‑place SMT parts when required.
  • Conduct operator verification (OVP) of incoming CCA kits and self‑verify quality of completed work using a 10X microscope.
  • Maintain soldering workstation cleanliness and select/maintain proper soldering iron tips and tools.
  • Flex to other areas as needed and support overtime requirements.
Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
  • 1–4 years soldering experience (ability to obtain J‑STD‑001 and IPC‑610 Class 3 certification within 30 days of hire, depending on assignment).
  • Proficient with soldering through‑hole components, jumper wires, and hand placement of SMT parts to Class 3 standards.
  • Experience using a 10X microscope for inspection and verification.
  • Ability to read and follow technical work instructions, internal procedures, and safety documents.
  • Able to lift/move up to 35 lbs and work with hazardous materials/chemicals when required.
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to self‑verify quality.
  • Willingness to work overtime and learn/flex to other areas.
