ABOUT THE ROLE
The Registered Nurse (RN) Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the overall nursing care/service, and management of all personnel on his/her shift, including the accurate and timely administration of medications, treatments, documentation, and emergency calls, as indicated.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Supervise direct care of residents and nursing personnel on his/her shift.
- Administer direct care as necessary.
- Give and receive shift reports.
- Round twice a shift to ensure proper care is rendered in a safe and clean environment.
- Keep physicians and families aware of changes in residents’ condition.
- Assist in developing comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each resident.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all care rendered.
- Respond to resident emergency call system.
- Interface with other disciplines to assure continuity of care and services.
- Accompany physicians when making rounds.
- Encourage restorative care in order to obtain maximum resident independence.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. RN with a current license in Florida.
- At least 6 months of experience in geriatric nursing is a plus.
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Can generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
- Can communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
