General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology and Retina, Pain Management, and Urology.
The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continuous evaluation of the patient's condition to ensure safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. The role may assist physicians in the procedure rooms with conscious sedation and use of sterile techniques as appropriate. The nurse will deliver comprehensive care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and will prepare patients and families for discharge.
Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
- Active RN license in the state
- BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center
- 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
- Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
