The Recovery Room Nurse is responsible for providing skilled cardiac nursing care during the pre and post catheterization period.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • An Associate’s Degree in nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • A current Florida RN license and at least three years of professional nursing experience, with at least two years of advanced cardiac care experience (i.e., ER, ICU, CCU, Cath Lab).
  • BLS and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
  • Experience as a Cath Tech is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides pre‑procedure care for patients (i.e., nursing assessments, medication reconciliation, starts IV’s, preps area for cath, reviews procedure with patient).
  • Administers medications intravenously, orally, and intramuscularly as directed by the physician.
  • Monitors patient’s vital signs and implements post cath orders; clearly documents patient progress in the patient’s electronic record.
  • Evaluates patient condition at all times and notifies physician of any problems.
  • Performs CPR, defibrillates patient and operates temporary pacemakers when necessary.
  • Provides any necessary assistance to patient or physician in emergency situations.
  • Assists technical staff as necessary.
  • Safely discharges patient from facility in accordance with physician orders and in compliance with established discharge criteria.
  • Responsible for accurate documentation of all patient data.
  • Maintains Recovery Room area in a clean, safe, and orderly state.
