Behavioral Health Registered Nurse – Clearwater, FL
A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) Charge Nurse to join its Behavioral Health team. This full‑time leadership role offers the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care while supporting staff development and promoting clinical excellence in an acute care environment.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care and oversee the delivery of care for behavioral health patients using the nursing process and established clinical standards
- Utilize effective leadership and managerial skills to coordinate daily patient care activities and unit operations
- Serve as a professional role model and clinical resource for nursing team members
- Promote safe, evidence‑based, and patient‑centered care practices
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Support staff development, education, and professional growth initiatives
- Facilitate communication and share organizational information with team members
- Demonstrate professional accountability and commitment to continuous improvement
- Foster a positive, collaborative environment focused on quality care and patient safety
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, or an approved psychiatric nursing certification obtained within seven months of hire
- Minimum of two years of Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting required
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Nursing specialty certification preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
- Must meet all applicable background screening requirements
