Summary
Position: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Schedule: Part Time, Evening 3 pm–11 pm, Every Other Weekend Required
Pay: $1 evening shift differential, $2 weekend differential
Essential Job Functions- Provide physical support to assist residents with daily living activities such as lifting, transfers, bed mobility, bathing, dressing, toileting, standing, walking, exercising, meal assistance, and taking vital signs.
- Observe and document each resident’s health, behavior, physical, and emotional condition; promptly report changes to the nurse.
- Respond promptly and courteously to resident call signals, signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine needs.
- Promote personal safety and maintain a clean environment by following infection control practices, facility guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the nurse.
- Communicate resident conditions, changes, and concerns with nurses.
- Complete required documentation in a timely manner.
- Provide companionship, comfort, and support to residents.
- Meet federal and state in‑service requirements.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
- Make independent decisions and follow instructions.
- Deal tactfully with personnel, prospects, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies.
- Work effectively with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset individuals.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors, team members, prospects, residents, and families.
- Meet all applicable state and federal requirements for the position.
- Prefer at least 6 months of experience in a home care, assisted living, or long‑term care facility.
This position does not have any direct reports or supervisory responsibilities.
Physical and Cognitive Requirements- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds; transferring/responsible for residents may involve lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Use of abdominal and lower back muscles without fatigue.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, stretch, twist, sit, and reach.
- Fine motor skills.
- Execute tasks independently.
- Concentrate on moderate detail despite frequent interruptions.
- Visual acuity and hearing alertness.
- Ambient room temperatures and lighting.
- None.
