QIC assists the leadership team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating quality programs and structuring learning experiences as a part of the improvement process.

QIC assists the leadership team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating quality programs and structuring learning experiences as a part of the improvement process.

Job Functions
  • Develop, plan, conduct, and schedule effective learning experiences for facility staff including nurses and nursing assistants.
  • Utilize the 40-40-20 The Goodman Group performance improvement model as the foundation for the Quality Program. Forty percent of the Quality Program oversight, 40% staff oversight, 20% training.
  • Supervise staff for day-to-day compliance, programs, and process.
  • Perform rounds frequently to ensure proper resident care.
  • Manage the QAPI process.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Health Services Director (RHSD) and Director of Nursing (DON) annually to review the policies and procedures and make recommendations for revisions. Monitor staff compliance with the written policies and procedures established by this facility.
  • Monitor QM / Dashboard and identify improvement opportunities through root cause analysis and IDT discussions. Analyze data for trends and tracking.
  • Maintain a comprehensive Infection Control Program with surveillance, documentation, trending, analysis of the data and monthly reports.
  • Maintain a comprehensive Wound and Skin Program with surveillance, documentation, trending, and oversight.
  • Assist with problem identification and resolution as directed by the Director of Nursing.
  • Manage and monitor risk management.
  • Manage and monitor resident and staff immunization program.
  • Provide infection control training and oversee that PPE are used properly following IC policies and standards of practice guidelines from the CDC.
  • Participate in staff reviews through observation of performance and make recommendations to the Director of Nursing/Executive Director for action and monitoring.
  • Manage program for staff certification and education to meet state survey requirements.
  • Maintain in-service attendance records, competencies, and training tools.
  • Act in the capacity of the Director of Nursing during his/her absence.
  • Complete on call responsibilities as directed by DON.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge And Critical Skills
  • Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
  • Deal tactfully with personnel, prospects, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
  • Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
  • Communicate effectively in a manner that is sufficient for supervisors, team members, prospects, residents, and families.
  • Knowledge/proficiency with computer programs.
Education And Experience
  • Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in state.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the subject field.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have any direct reports or supervisory requirements.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Tasks assigned to this position may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.
