Astaras is seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Densalloy Quality Manager to lead and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in support of aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing operations
. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with AS9100D standards which specifically includes support of production quality, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance across all Densalloy manufacturing operations.

The Quality Manager will oversee internal auditing, documentation control, inspection systems, daily metallurgical laboratory operations, corrective actions, supplier quality, and continuous process improvement initiatives while working closely with production, engineering, and executive leadership.

Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Maintain and continuously improve the company AS9100D compliant Quality Management System.
  • Ensure all procedures, work instructions, forms, travelers, and records comply with customer, regulatory, and aerospace industry requirements.
  • Lead preparation and execution of external AS9100D audits.
  • Manage document control and revision management processes.
  • Develop and implement quality policies, objectives, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, purchase orders, and contract quality requirements.
Production & Manufacturing Quality
  • Oversee inspection and verification activities throughout Densalloy production operations including mixing, pressing, cutting, sintering, machining, and final inspection/shipping.
  • Ensure production travelers, inspection reports, Certificates of Conformity (CoC), and quality records are properly completed and maintained.
  • Develop and maintain inspection plans, sampling methods, and measurement verification processes.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) investigations.
  • Monitor nonconforming material and disposition activities.
Metallurgical Laboratory Responsibilities
  • Perform and oversee daily metal laboratory testing and inspection activities for Densalloy materials and finished products.
  • Conduct density, hardness, dimensional, and visual inspections in accordance with engineering specifications and customer requirements.
  • Prepare and evaluate metallurgical samples for microstructure and material verification.
  • Maintain laboratory records, inspection logs, calibration documentation, and test reports.
  • Ensure proper handling, traceability, and retention of test specimens and quality records.
  • Coordinate calibration and maintenance of laboratory and inspection equipment.
  • Support failure analysis, material investigations, and process validation activities.
Auditing & Compliance
  • Conduct internal audits in accordance with AS9100D requirements.
  • Coordinate customer audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and safety‑related quality requirements.
  • Maintain calibration systems for measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Ensure traceability and lot control requirements are maintained.
  • Manage supplier quality performance and vendor qualification activities.
  • Review supplier certifications, material traceability, and incoming inspection documentation.
  • Interface directly with aerospace, defense, and commercial customers regarding quality concerns and corrective actions.
  • Support customer quality questionnaires, audits, and documentation requests.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and process efficiency.
  • Track and report quality metrics including scrap rates, rework, first pass yield, on‑time delivery support, nonconformance trends, and customer returns.
  • Drive corrective actions to reduce defects and improve operational performance.
