Customer Service Rep, Retail Associate/ Customer Service
Overview
Position Summary. What you''ll do: assist management with supervising associates, communicating goals and feedback, training associates, providing direction on member service approaches, and ensuring issues are resolved per company guidelines. Support the Open Door Policy, participate in recruiting, hiring, scheduling, promoting, coaching, and evaluating associates.
Communicate and support membership by providing information on membership types, programs, and benefits to current and prospective members; process memberships, upgrades, and credit accounts; encourage renewals; participate in sales and marketing events; complete and maintain marketing recaps and documentation; strive to meet membership goals and promote the value of Sam''s Club products and services.
Provide member service by acknowledging members, identifying needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, guiding on self-service technology, assisting with transactions using registers or self-checkout, and ensuring club pick-up orders are filled.
Oversee assigned area by handling claims and returns, zoning the area, organizing merchandise, identifying shrink and damages, maintaining availability of carts and flatbeds, assisting members with transporting items, and maintaining parking lot cleanliness. Complete accounting records and related documentation by following office procedures, handling funds for proper register operation, creating and interpreting financial analysis, and assisting with investigations, deposits, cashier discrepancies, and maintaining confidentiality of financial and personal information.
Develop and implement processes to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and partners; analyze information from multiple sources; monitor progress and address improvement opportunities. Demonstrate and promote compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethics; explain and demonstrate application of these in business processes; assist management with corrective actions and Open Door Policy issues.
Lead and participate in teams by coordinating work, determining customer needs and business priorities, providing feedback, and modeling adaptability to change. The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00 to $29.00. The actual rate will equal or exceed the applicable minimum wage. Additional compensation may be paid as premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances (schedule, facility, season, or work performed). Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
6 months of retail experience including operating front-end equipment (e.g., cash register) and 6 months of customer service experience; must be 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
Leading a front-end team; supervising experience including hiring, evaluating, mentoring, developing, and managing workload of others.
