Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge, and assist with the selection of merchandise.
React promptly to all customer concerns with a sense of importance and provide outstanding service in assisting patrons with the selection of goods or substitute items.
Responsible for overall operations of the sales department, including ordering, receiving, pricing, and monitoring stock levels.
May collaborate with store management on price changes, markdowns, promotional sets, and signage.
Communicate directly with HQ staff to resolve special order requests and merchandise issues at the store level.
Assist the store management team in training employees on all cashier and front‑end duties and provide input on employee evaluations.
Operate a cash register, accept cash, personal checks, credit cards, etc.; prepare, verify, and issue change funds as required.
Collect cash receipts, cash register tapes, checks, credit card receipts, and other supporting documentation; reconcile register tapes with Daily Activity Reports and investigate discrepancies.
Prepare and maintain cash overage and shortage records for each sales cashier daily; control and secure change funds, safes, and cash registers.
Key carrier: open and close the store as required.
May direct/supervise other employees and be responsible for the store in the absence of management.
Follow all policies regarding loss prevention, pay attention to shrink and the alert line, and adhere to all established safety standards and emergency‑preparedness requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Must have availability to open, close, and work weekends.
Minimum Qualifications- Prior retail experience in inventory control and retail sales.
- Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Experience operating a cash register and working knowledge of sales inventory.
- Previous retail supervisory experience in the performance of the above referenced duties.
- Current U.S. Coast Guard Navy Air Station sales clerk with at least 6 months experience as a U.S. Coast Guard NAF sales clerk.
