As an Assistant Manager, you are responsible for everything that happens during your shift: cost controls, inventory control, cash control, customer relations, staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, image, standards, customer service, attendance, transportation, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability.
GeneralJob Duties
- Operate all equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
- Prepare product.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility with a daily frequency.
- Comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.
- Perform basic math accurately and quickly.
- Make correct monetary change.
- Use verbal, written, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Coordinate motor skills to make precise movements quickly.
- Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touchscreen.
- Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks.
- In‑store temperatures between 36° and 90° or higher.
- Sudden changes in temperature; exposure to fumes, cornmeal dust, and hot surfaces up to 500°.
- Cramped quarters, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
- Telephone communication – talking and hearing.
- Near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks.
- Depth perception.
- Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
- Direct activity, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality standards, deal with people, analyze data, make judgments and decisions.
- Most tasks are performed standing.
- Short distances for short durations.
- Bulk product deliveries up to 50 pounds; deliveries may include cases of ingredients and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Cases are lifted from floor and stacked up to 72 inches high.
- Large cans weighing 3.7 pounds; pizza sauce weighing 30 pounds.
- Trays of pizza dough carried three at a time, weighing approximately 12 pounds per tray.
- Pushing trays on dollies, roughly 24–30 pounds, up to 7.5 pounds of force.
- Trays may also be pulled.
- Infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder for maintenance.
- Forward bending at the pizza assembly station for 30–45 seconds at a time.
- Forward bending at the front counter and when stocking ingredients.
- Occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas.
- Continuous up, down, and forward reaching.
- Eye‑hand coordination required continuously.
- Use of one or both hands frequently.
- Shaping pizza dough requires frequent and forceful use of forearms and wrists.
