Overview
The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish Lens Crafters as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. They create exceptional value for customers by delivering legendary customer service and high quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.
Responsibilities- Welcome all customers and set expectations with them
- Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescription in lenses
- Act as a leader in optical acumen
- Take and record measurements, accurately adjust/fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs
- Assist team with complex product needs and prescriptions
- Use technology accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume, exercising exceptional product knowledge and using appropriate tools
- Be proactive, explore root causes of issues, forward‑thinking, ensuring customers are satisfied and expectations are exceeded, solution‑driven
- Multi‑task, prioritize and manage time with competing priorities
- Strive to achieve exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies
- Take pride in store appearance, help keep store clean, attractive and organized
- Inform management of safety opportunities; demonstrate safe work practices
- Be resourceful, self‑motivated with a desire for continual learning, improvement and results
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions and inventory management
- High school graduate or equivalent
- State licensure
- Optical dispensing experience
- Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener and team builder
- Knowledge of current store merchandise
- Strong basic math skills
- Awareness of current fashion trends
- Selling skills – ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet
- Familiarity with POS, computers and calculators
- Embrace new technology and change
- Previous customer service and retail experience
