Position ResponsibilitiesThe Sales Consultant will be directly responsible for selling new and pre‑owned inventory at dealership gross and volume standards while maintaining CSI. The role includes four broad areas of activity: personal work habits, prospecting, selling, and follow‑up.
Essential Duties and Tasks- Model the company’s mission by being an empowered, passionate and positive associate who provides exceptional personalized service to guests.
- Welcome each guest with a prompt and enthusiastic greeting, followed by a tour of the dealership.
- Stay informed of current inventory, prices, and availability.
- Maintain effective communication with existing and potential clients.
- Educate clients regarding offerings.
- Track changing market conditions, values, activities, and incentives.
- Be familiar with the appraising procedure and sell the appraisal.
- Develop a personal plan to accomplish daily, monthly, and annual objectives.
- Record all guest engagement in dealership platform.
- Follow an effective prospecting system daily, using a variety of contacts.
- Know the products, explain features & benefits, and demonstrate the product with confidence.
- Use the retail buyer’s order to negotiate the close.
- Close the retail contract with assistance from sales management.
- Complete all sales forms, ensuring proper signatures and all required information is obtained.
- Inspect unit with customers upon delivery.
- Deliver unit, ensuring that the customer is familiar with all operations of the unit & explain the importance of CSI.
- Establish personal income goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goals.
- Request assistance from Sales Manager on dealing with objectives, planned activities, reviews, and analysis.
- Determine each customer’s needs by conducting a needs assessment and listening attentively.
- Explain values of inventory and depreciation to advise customers and prospects.
- Know and understand the federal, state and local laws that govern motorsports sales.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Create a safe work environment where everyone is treated with dignity, compassion and respect.
- Previous sales experience in a related field highly preferred.
- Proven success in a sales environment with consistent performance exceeding dealership sales and CSI standards.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Be an effective team member who is innovative, proactive and focused on quality improvements.
- Work effectively with staff, customers and all levels of management.
- Present a positive and professional image to customers, staff and vendors.
- Manage multiple projects and duties simultaneously.
- Meet critical deadlines for management as well as customers.
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Ability to build relationships with guests, associates, and all levels of leadership.
