Position Description

The Sales Associate greets and welcomes customers on the lot upon a customer’s arrival, before entering the showroom. Additionally, the Sales Associate answers incoming sales phone calls and responds to internet leads with the intention of answering customer questions leading to the creation of an appointment. The Sales Associate collaborates with the Sales Management team and is responsible for building a loyal clientele, attaining high Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores, maintaining good employee relations, meeting Mazda of Clearwater performance metrics and maintaining sales records.

Additionally, they must remain manufacturer certified, satisfy all customer sales concerns and ensure that customer service is performed at the highest level.

This position provides full-time opportunities. This is not a managerial position.

Process & Policy
  • Follow Up:
    The Daily Work Plan should be worked thoroughly to generate appointments before a sale and to create an exceptional ownership experience following the sale. The Daily Work Plan should be completed and up to date by the end of every business day.
  • Leads:
    Should be worked at least two times per day (1st Week) Reading all leads in completion before responding to ensure the proper response is given. Mazda of Clearwater expects all sales associates to make a minimum of 25 outbound prospecting phone calls per day to generate vehicle sales appointments.
  • Phones:
    Be available during your allotted phone hour. If you are busy, you will let the receptionist know. If you are unavailable, the call will go to the next available sales associate.
  • Appointments:
    Target monthly unsold, sales appointments should be two per day. Sales associates are expected to generate a minimum of one appointment per day.
  • Lot Walk: A daily lot walk of both the new and used car inventories will be completed, ensuring you know the location of inventory and what is available for retail sale.
  • Tardiness:
    Being on time for every shift is the minimum requirement. You are expected to check in with the Desk at the beginning of every shift and anytime you need to leave the property during a scheduled shift. You will check out with the Desk at the end of every shift.
  • Unsold Prospects: ALL Customers contacted will be entered into the CRM, with accurate information. Anyone who has all current tasks in the CRM complete is able to assist customers on the lot. All UPs on property will receive a Manager Turn Over, (T.O.), Your turn over rate on unsold prospects will be 100%.
  • Brooming:
    The 1st time a sales associate’s customer leaves without a T.O., a verbal warning will be issued. The 2nd time will involve a disciplinary write-up; the 3rd time this occurs the sales associate’s employment may be terminated at the discretion of sales management.
  • You are required to attend any training scheduled for you by a management.
  • Paperwork:
    You are responsible for all compliance paperwork being completed properly and signed in the correct places by the customer before being brought to the Desk.
  • Bank Stipulations:
    You are responsible for assisting in retrieving all additional paperwork required by the bank for completion of loan processing and funding.
Performance Metrics
  • Must be current on all manufacturer certification training.
  • All customers greeted, name and contact information MUST be collected.
    • If not: 1st time- verbal warning; 2nd time- write-up; 3rd time- termination.
  • No tasks in CRM will be “Overdue” tasks longer than 2 days, excluding scheduled time off from work. There is a minimum requirement of 8 calls per month on all unsold Sales prospects and a monthly average of 50-points of customer contact per day.
    • If your workplan is not complete, you will not receive any fresh Customer Ups or leads from other sources.
  • Appointment target is two per day, with a minimum expectation of one per day.
