Waste Pro Technicians receive a $2,000.00 Retention Bonus during the first year of employment and are eligible for year‑end and referral bonuses. The company supports career development through ASE Certification fee reimbursement, increased compensation, and a Master Technician Achievement Bonus. Technicians also receive a monthly tool allowance of up to $50.00 and a $150.00 annual boot allowance.

- Report to the Maintenance Supervisor as a Technician responsible for diagnostics on a fleet of refuse and recycling vehicles.
- Maintain and repair all aspects of Mack, IHC, Autocar, Heil, McNeilus vehicles and equipment.
- Support coworkers in working safely and efficiently to maintain the fleet.
- Complete all required paperwork promptly and accurately.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
- Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
- Perform repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
- Maintain high standards of ethics and dependability.
- Drive Train Inspection, Diagnosis and Repair.
- General Engine Inspection, Diagnosis and Repair.
- Transmission Inspection, Diagnosis and Repair.
- Outside Repair Inspection Review.
- Assess structural damage and assign needed repairs.
- Provide assistance, guidance and direction to all shop technicians.
- CDL Class B (required).
- Ability to obtain 7 ASE Certifications or equivalent within 36 months.
- 3–5 years of hands‑on technical experience with medium‑size and Class 8 vehicles and equipment, preferably in the waste/recycling industry.
- Clear understanding of OSHA safety requirements for vehicle fleets.
- Ability to use computers for data tracking, communication, and documentation (e.g., Dossier, Microsoft Office).
Job Responsibilities
- Attend and participate in company‑sponsored training courses as assigned.
- Keep up to date on current technology used by Waste Pro.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
- Exposure to chemical and residential waste.
- Walking, jogging, twisting, crouching, and lifting.
- Maintaining sufficient stamina for a steady work pace throughout the day.
- Use of personal protective equipment as mandated by company.
- Get up and down from the cab of a commercial motor vehicle 50–100 times per day.
- Lift 50–75 pounds from floor to waist height unassisted.
- Lift 50 pounds from floor to shoulder height unassisted.
- Lift 50 pounds from floor to overhead unassisted.
- Push and pull 50 pounds unassisted.
- Bend at the knees and waist 100–200 times frequently.
- Reach over the head or with extended arms 100–200 times frequently.
- Twist at the waist 100–200 times frequently.
- Work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions (road calls).
- Normal setting is inside and outside with occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.
