Summary
Inspect, repair, and test fire extinguishers using hand tools, hydrostatic test equipment, and monitoring devices. Hydro-test high pressure cylinders. Dismantle extinguishers and examine mechanical parts, extinguishing agents, and expelling means; replaces worn or damaged parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Dismantle extinguishers and examine tubing, horns, head gaskets, cutter discs, and other parts for defects. replaces worn or damaged parts.
- Clean extinguishers and recharge with various agents, including soda water and sulfuric acid, carbon tetra chloride, nitrogen, or patented solutions or other.
- Test extinguishers for conformity with legal specifications.
- Install cabinets and brackets to hold extinguishers.
- Facilitate and support sales of fire extinguishers.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
