Pipe Layer
A Pipe Layer is an hourly‑rated skilled craft position performing on construction projects a combination of the following duties:
- Assist lead person with setting laser
- Read and understand plans
- General labor duties on pipe crew
- Assist lead person with installing RCP water and sanitary pipe
- Mud and cut pipe
- Able to multi‑task and work as a team member
- Prep pipe
- Perform layout
- Instruction of drainage pipe structure
- Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience- Requires demonstrable previous experience as a Pipe Layer
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred
- Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with site supervisors and peers
- Three to five years or more of industry‑related experience, emphasizing roads, highways, and bridges
- Constant physical effort including standing for extended periods, stooping, bending, and crouching
- Work often performed at heights up to 60 feet, requiring ladders, scaffolds, and stair towers
- Hands extended overhead while operating hand power tools
- Lifting and carrying at least 50–90 pounds individually and up to 150 pounds with assistance
- Manual dexterity for handling construction materials and tools
- Operation of concrete vibrators for extended periods
- Pour, grade, and finish concrete with repetitive motions
- Maintain constant alertness to site activities and equipment
- Walk on uneven surfaces in varying weather conditions
- Certification to enter confined spaces up to 15 feet deep
- Operate man‑lift safely
- Climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely
- Outdoors in all weather conditions
- Exposure to high levels of noise, grease, and dust
- Work near heavy equipment and moving machinery
- Exposure to construction substances such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel, and ready‑mixed concrete
