Job SummaryPiper Fire Protection is seeking a motivated and skilled Fire Sprinkler Foreman to support our Construction and Operations teams at our Clearwater, FL office. The Foreman will lead onsite installation activities related to fire sprinkler systems, ensuring work is performed safely, accurately, and efficiently while meeting Piper’s quality standards and project schedules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Lead the installation of fire sprinkler systems, including overhead and underground piping, valves, hangers, and related components.
- Coordinate field activities with other trades and ensure proper sequencing of work on construction projects.
- Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and hydraulic calculations to ensure accurate installation and compliance with project requirements.
- Supervise field crews, assign daily tasks, and ensure labor, materials, and equipment are available and used efficiently.
- Oversee layout and installation of sprinkler systems per NFPA standards and local code requirements.
- Train, mentor, and develop fitters and helpers to meet Piper Fire Protection standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, designers, general contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Identify field changes, conflicts, or scope gaps; collaborate with project managers to support change orders and project adjustments.
- Perform quality control checks and inspections to ensure installations meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate job documentation, including daily reports and as‑built drawings.
- Promote and enforce jobsite safety practices in compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
- Stay current on industry standards, code updates, and best practices through training and professional development.
Skills & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of demonstrated experience in fire sprinkler system installation, including hands‑on field work and foreman or lead‑level responsibilities.
- Strong working knowledge of wet, dry, pre‑action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems.
- Thorough understanding of NFPA standards (particularly NFPA 13, 14, and 24) and applicable local codes.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Experience coordinating crews and managing daily construction activities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to identify field issues and contribute to practical solutions and change order processes.
- Commitment to high standards of safety, workmanship, and professionalism.
- NICET certification (Water‑Based Systems) or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including a valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
Job Requirements
This role may require extended periods of sitting or standing, movement around the office or job site, and operation of standard equipment. Physical activities can include reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Field positions may involve heavy lifting, working in varying climates (including outdoor conditions), construction or low‑voltage environments, and exposure to dust, noise, or confined spaces.
Personal protective equipment may be required. Some roles may require travel.
