Cox Automotive Mobility Fleet Services keeps your fleet moving. Headquartered in Indianapolis, CAMFS has grown to be one of the largest fleet maintenance companies in the country. CAMFS provides on-site mobile maintenance and repair services nationwide for light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers. We also service customers with 20+ nationwide service centers offering accident repair, painting, refurbishment, and heavy mechanical repair.

We are supported by a 24/7 in-house call center and provide scheduled maintenance as well as unscheduled services to fleets anywhere, anytime.

Program Opportunity

Flee Tec Academy is a paid educational program that leads to becoming one of our full-time Diesel & Trailer Technicians
. It helps people enter the Diesel & Trailer Maintenance field who might not be able to afford a lengthy formal technical school with tuition debt, by providing education and tools and paying you during the program. The program includes classroom training and hands-on experience, with a pathway to a full-time Mobile Diesel Technician role with CAMFS.

Responsibilities
  • Attend four weeks of full-time classroom training (travel and lodging expenses are provided) and complete hands-on training with supervision from a Lead Technician.
  • After classroom training, be paired with a Lead Technician for hands-on training and transition to a full-time role in the field.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations using a state-of-the-art service vehicle and required tools.
  • Carry out tasks in support of keeping customer fleets running efficiently and minimizing downtime.
  • Remain engaged in ongoing education to advance skills and career progression within CAMFS.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Desire to start a career as a Diesel & Trailer Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.
  • Willingness and ability to study hard and commit to four weeks away for training.
  • Maturity and focus; this is the start of a career path, not a summer program.
  • Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
  • Ability to operate an iPad.
  • A High-School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Background checks, driving record checks, pre-employment drug testing, and a physical are conducted.
  • DOT/FMCSA regulatory compliance: candidate must complete and pass a DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment. A valid DOT medical card may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical if more than four months remain; otherwise a DOT physical is required.
  • Minimum age 21 due to interstate commerce regulations; valid state driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File are required.
  • Safe driving record required (3-year MVR review).
  • Applicants who have recently separated from active military service are encouraged to apply.
Compensation & Pay Details
  • $12.99/hour (or state minimum wage, whichever is greater) + $250/week stipend (taxed)
  • $19/hour after the first six weeks
  • Second class for four weeks at Indy at $19/hour + $250/week (taxed)
  • Incremental pay increase of $1/hour upon graduation
