Job Description
As a Software Engineer at Honeywell, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of software solutions that support our aerospace technologies, focusing on aircraft systems innovation, safety, and emerging aerospace technologies.
You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and work out of the Clearwater, FL location on a hybrid schedule, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality products.
Responsibilities- Design, code, test, integrate, qualify, and document test software for Clearwater Space products, including Inertial Navigation Units (INUs) and Single Board Computers (SBCs).
- Complete tasks under supervision of the test software technical lead.
- Learn and utilize the Aerospace Engineering Process (AEP) to develop high‑quality test software on time and within budgeted hours.
- Interact with internal customers and team members; participate in peer reviews and major design reviews.
- Participate in year‑over‑year improvement projects with other department team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- US citizenship with capability to acquire a Secret clearance due to contractual requirements.
- One year of knowledge or internship experience in software development tools and version control systems using programming languages.
- Strong understanding of programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies and best practices.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
- Experience with embedded systems or aerospace software development.
- Knowledge of real‑time operating systems and safety‑critical software standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to fast‑paced projects.
- Passion for innovation and continuous learning.
