Process Engineer II – Job Overview
Pay Range: $94,100.00 – $ annually. Eligible for incentive bonus.
Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership to operate a major asset (~$50MM–$200MM annual revenue) to meet product specifications.
- Develop and maintain data collection, auditing, and preventive maintenance processes to quickly identify deviations and recommend corrective actions.
- Apply root‑cause analysis (RCCA), 5‑Why, JM Solve‑It, Keppner/Tregoe, and Six‑Sigma approaches as needed.
- Lead process efficiency and quality improvement initiatives, reducing cost of poor quality and optimizing performance.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to develop and tune process control architecture.
- Partner with JMTC specialists to design, develop, and implement process modeling systems.
- Review and adjust raw material specifications to achieve performance improvements.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures, system set‑points, and management tools (e.g., MII set‑up sheets).
- Promote safety performance and a strong safety culture by encouraging safe behaviors and supporting safety initiatives.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies for current and future processes.
- Resolve technical issues with internal and external resources.
- Share findings with the technical community and participate in JM Centers of Excellence.
- Lead process redesign during rebuilds or major investment projects, coordinating multiple operations and functions.
- Provide on‑site support during construction and startup to enhance in‑plant capabilities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in continuous process manufacturing (process or design engineering).
- Minimum 2 years of troubleshooting experience on manufacturing processes.
- Proven track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, including complex data analysis.
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) for process improvement.
- Solid project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with a wide range of employees.
- Independent work capability and effective teamwork.
- Ability to make timely decisions and set expectations for team members.
- Leadership experience supervising or leading project teams.
Typical manufacturing facility conditions may include exposure to cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust/mist/fumes, and extensive walking or climbing.
