Overview
Our Senior Operations Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operations objectives. The Senior Operations Manager oversees all aspects of operations at the site, including managing and leading a team of Operations and Area Managers. The role focuses on coaching, mentoring, and building positive employee relations while strengthening leadership capacity within the fulfillment center.
Responsibilities- Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable the functional area and the fulfillment center to meet and exceed the business plan.
- Responsible for overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of either inbound or outbound operations.
- Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers; measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Ops Managers accountable for performance of their departments.
- Leverage Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and incorporating those ideas into improvement plans for the functional area.
- Take proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and across the network.
- Work closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other senior operations managers) to secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their area, and provide needed support and resources for other staff initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each.
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
- Walk frequently in the FC and around the area; facilities over a quarter mile in length.
- Stand and/or walk an average of 5 miles daily.
- Work in construction/distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, and not air‑conditioned.
- Access all building areas (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways safely and without limitation).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of direct management experience.
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
- Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and terminations.
- Flexibility to work business hours, including overnight, weekends and holidays.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience leading large contingent workforce programs.
- Experience working in fast‑paced environments, managing workload under stress or escalated activity.
- Experience working cross‑functionally across several teams.
The base salary range for this position is – USD annually for the USA, TX, Cleburne location. The Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
