Primary Purpose:

Maintains and repairs irrigation systems including replacing valves, switches, PVC lines, control panels, and other plumbing issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

Turn irrigation systems on and off as designated.

Operates timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers.

May assist in various maintenance activities as required.

Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety.

Performs plumbing repairs, as required.

Winterize Systems as needed.

Establishes spare parts stock.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Skills and Abilities

Required

Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
Ability to perform irrigation tasks such as operating timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers.
Ability to respond to plumbing issues.
Knowledge of manual and/or computerized irrigation systems.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

Conditions of Employment

A valid Texas driver's license will be required if a motor vehicle must be operated on the job.

Other

Maintain confidentiality.
Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor and/or Superintendent.
Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Must be present regularly in person.
