Compensation: $73,769.16 - $85,549.61

Job Overview

This is a supervisory position responsible for daily operations including marketing, sales, cash management, processing of accounts payable, and inventory control. This position primarily manages, maintains, and operates the municipal golf course including food and beverage and Pro Shop operations. It also ensures strict compliance with TABC requirements. The role requires hand‑on assistance in any facility area, and marketing and promotion of play is a critical success indicator.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to meet and work with the public in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Working knowledge of golf course operation, including maintenance, Pro Shop merchandising, and food/ beverage sales including TABC liquor laws and alcohol sales.
  • Professional and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and evaluate subordinates’ activities.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to budget, implement, and conduct financial analysis on an ongoing basis.
  • Ability to establish and implement goals and objectives.
  • Ability to develop and make presentations.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting golf course operations.
  • Ability to budget operational costs and coordinate course maintenance and repair.
  • Thorough knowledge of the golf industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of golf equipment.
  • Ability to provide golf instruction across age and ability levels.
  • Problem‑solving and decision‑making at administrative and executive levels.
Education and Experience

High‑school graduate or equivalent, with a minimum of two (2) years of golf course management experience and an additional two (2) years in a supervisory capacity. OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certificates and Licenses Required

A valid Class C Texas driver’s license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record.

Certified Food Handler or ability to obtain one within 180 days of hire.

PGA of America Class A preferred.

Environmental Factors and Safety Hazards

Primarily an indoor environment with occasional outdoor work. May be exposed to extreme heat and cold during summer and winter months.

Tools and Equipment Used

Standard office equipment: multi‑line telephone, computer, fax machine, copier, scanner, printer, etc.
