Job Summary
Transportation Associates help Amazon deliver world class service in its transportation operations by performing trailer moves in the trailer yard, coordinating yard activities, conducting yard audits, completing driver training programs, and operating multiple vehicle types based on business need, including hostlers and day cabs.
They support Amazon’s transportation network, ensuring safe and efficient movement of trailers and equipment.
Responsibilities- Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations and enforcing safety measures for all vehicle operators and vendors.
- Perform various functions within the yard, support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers to ensure all trailers arrive and depart on time with zero defects.
- Operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non-public roads or in the yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations.
- Learn and comply with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and company policies regarding size, weight, route designations, parking, trailer designations, violation and incident reporting, break periods, and more.
- Complete driver vehicle inspection reports and notify managers of any maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
- Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks, comply with Amazon policy and federal and state regulations, obey all applicable traffic laws, and drive in accordance with weather/road conditions.
- Support the business as needed by serving as a peer trainer and/or working at nearby site locations within the area.
- Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck using approved equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Opportunity to work outside and drive different commercial motor vehicles in the yard and over the road.
- Exposure to different Amazon site types including NACF, NASC, Air, AMZL & AMXL.
- Long‑term growth potential via comprehensive training in transportation with Amazon.
- Dependent on business need, possibility to earn a paid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) from Amazon.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid and active driver’s license.
- Minimum age 21 years and ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines in English.
- Ability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, and ascend/descend stairs during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
- Work full‑time (40 hours per week) with overtime as required.
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Must obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Driver Qualification File (DQF) when required, comply with DOT regulations and pass relevant background, physical, and drug‑test screenings.
- Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences.
- Experience building strong collaborative relationships with colleagues and outside vendors.
- Experience working in a transportation or logistics environment.
Location:
