Novant Health is seeking an Athletic Trainer licensed in the appropriate state, acts under the supervision of a physician and must adhere to the protocols and guidelines as required by the licensing agency. The protocols must be written in collaboration with the supervising physician and reviewed annually. The Athletic Trainer works in the areas of primary care, sports medicine or orthopedic clinical setting, specializing in the delivery of high quality health care for those engaged in physical activity.
AboutOur Team
We specialize in treating musculoskeletal injuries, sports-related conditions, joint pain, fractures, and rehabilitation to help patients regain strength and mobility. Our team serves as part of the rehabilitation care team and as an expert in developing and implementing developmental performance plans to bridge formal rehabilitation and client activity goals. The performance clinic athletic trainer is responsible for being a part of the performance team with coaching groups of athletes, adults and individuals to reach their highest levels in preparation for competition and life.
Promote Novant Health within own entity as well as through community outreach initiatives and serve as an integral part of the healthcare delivery team.
- Assist providers during exams and procedures
- Take vital signs, obtain medical histories, and perform EKGs
- Prepare patients and exam rooms for treatment
- Provide compassionate care and patient education focused on orthopedic health and recovery
- Education:
4 Year / Bachelors’ degree, required. Bachelors’ degree in athletic training or equivalent from a CAATE accredited program required. Graduate Degree, preferred. - Experience:
Minimum of one year experience as a certified athletic trainer having participated in various administrative, educational or medical support services, required. Minimum one year experience as a performance professional in a youth, college, hospital or professional organization, preferred. - Licensure/Certification: NATABOC Certification (National Athletic Trainers Association-Board of Certification), required. NCBATE licensed or eligible, required. BLS certification within 30 days of hire, required. Industry Certification; preferably NSCA-CSCS or NASM, preferred.
- Additional skills required:
Excellent presentation skill in various group settings. Strong customer service skills where the client and patient are top priority. Energy and passion for mentoring others to achieve their personal recovery and wellness goals. Social media experience, knowledge and participation. Ability to drive and travel between venues as needed.
