Our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) cultivate a culture of excellence within each pharmacy, acting as role models, demonstrating genuine care and setting the bar for the pharmacy team.
Responsibilities- Live our purpose by helping manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
- Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled, overseeing the pharmacy and acting as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts.
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow established workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation.
- Assume the Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the sole or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, coaching the team, and resolving insurance or medication issues.
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn immunization skills.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, guiding the team on best practices, especially protecting cold‑chain products.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while fostering a safe, inclusive, engaging team dynamic.
- Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, obtaining required trainings and CME opportunities.
- Support patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services, where permissible.
- Understand and comply with federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; uphold CVS Health policies, controlled‑substance dispensing, record‑keeping, privacy and workplace safety.
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
- 1–2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer‑service setting.
Anticipated weekly hours: 30 hours.
Time type:
Full time.
Pay range: $60.00 – $76.00 per hour. This range represents the base hourly rate or full‑time salary for the job grade. The actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography and other factors. The position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay.
