The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, execution, and profitability of Sterling Spaces’ food and beverage services across its portfolio of event venues. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that every event delivers a consistently high level of hospitality, food quality, beverage service, and guest experience.
The Food & Beverage Manager will lead and support catering, bar, and event service teams while working closely with the Events, Sales, Operations, and Venue Management departments. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that food and beverage services are properly staffed, prepared, executed, and closed out for each event.
The ideal candidate is an experienced hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced event environment, has strong leadership and organizational skills, understands food and beverage financials, and takes pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Oversee the execution of all food and beverage services for Sterling Spaces events across multiple venues.
- Ensure all catering, bar, and beverage operations are executed according to company standards and client expectations.
- Develop and maintain consistent service standards, procedures, and operating practices across all venues.
- Work closely with the operations and coordination team to review upcoming events, menus, timelines, staffing requirements, and special client requests.
- Ensure event teams are fully prepared with the appropriate equipment, supplies, food, beverages, and staffing prior to each event.
- Monitor event execution and provide hands‑on leadership and support when necessary.
- Troubleshoot food and beverage issues during events and make timely decisions to resolve operational challenges.
- Conduct post‑event reviews when appropriate to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate food and beverage employees and event service staff.
- Establish clear expectations for performance, professionalism, appearance, attendance, and guest service.
- Develop and maintain a strong team culture centered around hospitality, accountability, teamwork, and professionalism.
- Conduct pre‑event staff meetings and ensure team members understand event details, responsibilities, timelines, and service expectations.
- Manage staffing levels based on event size, service style, menu, bar requirements, and operational needs.
- Address employee performance issues in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Oversee all bar and beverage operations, including staffing, setup, service, inventory, and breakdown.
- Ensure bartenders and beverage staff are properly trained in responsible alcohol service and company procedures.
- Maintain appropriate beverage inventory and minimize waste, over‑pouring, product loss, and unnecessary expenses.
- Ensure all alcohol service is conducted in accordance with applicable laws, permits, company policies, and insurance requirements.
- Maintain proper procedures for event bars, including cash handling, inventory reconciliation, product storage, and post‑event closeout.
- Coordinate specialty bars, signature cocktails, beer and wine service, non‑alcoholic beverage stations, and other beverage programs.
- Monitor food, beverage, disposables, equipment, and operational inventory across Sterling Spaces venues.
- Establish appropriate par levels and ordering procedures.
- Review invoices, product usage, waste, and inventory levels.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
- Review event orders, banquet event orders, menus, timelines, guest counts, and special requirements prior to each event.
