Process Technician – Blow Molding (1st Shift)

Clemmons, NC

Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM – 3:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Process Technician – Blow Molding to support the production of sand filters and other blow-molded products. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining optimal processing conditions, performing mold and tooling changes, troubleshooting equipment issues, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring production goals for quality, efficiency, and safety are met. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and experience in plastics manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities Blow Molding Operations
  • Set up, start up, and optimize blow molding equipment
  • Perform mold, tooling, and color changes according to standardized procedures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve processing issues to maintain production efficiency
  • Verify product quality and ensure all specifications are met
  • Monitor production runs and make process adjustments as needed
Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot molding machines, grinders, material handling systems, and secondary equipment
  • Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities on assigned equipment
  • Assist Maintenance and Engineering teams with preventative maintenance projects
  • Minimize downtime through quick and effective problem resolution
  • Maintain setup tools and notify management when supplies are needed
Material Management
  • Ensure materials are blended according to the current Bill of Material (BOM)
  • Monitor blending systems to ensure compliance and consistency
  • Verify grinders are operating correctly and thoroughly cleaned during material or color changes
  • Maintain dust collection systems and associated equipment
Continuous Improvement
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives
  • Participate in Kaizen teams and implement process improvements
  • Recommend methods to improve changeover efficiency, productivity, safety, and quality
  • Help reduce downtime and improve operational performance
Training & Leadership
  • Train and support blow molding operators on quality standards, safety procedures, and production requirements
  • Assist with developing employee skills and technical knowledge
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, engineers, and operators
  • Foster a safe and positive work environment
Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities
  • Good leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to train and mentor production employees
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Education Associate's Degree or Vocational Certification in Industrial Technology, Plastics Processing, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred
