Responsibilities- Assure product quality and manufacturing accuracy by properly using inspection equipment.
- Maintain product quality documentation, keeping accurate records and files such as Material Certifications, First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102), Inspection Method Sheets (IMS), and First Piece Inspection reports.
- Read and interpret aerospace blueprints and geometrical tolerancing.
- Apply knowledge of standard inspection measurement equipment (micrometers, dial bore gauges, thread gauges, sine plates, indicators). Inspection processes may involve chemicals and solvents.
- Identify and solve problems in coordination with suppliers.
- Maintain a positive team attitude and foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Train other inspectors or operators in inspection methods as required.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations related to compliance.
- High School or Technical School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Technology preferred.
- Minimum of 5–7 years in quality inspection or machining (final, source, and in-process inspection) within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, gages, micrometers, borescopes, and other measuring tools.
- Problem identification and resolution skills.
- Experience with quality management systems compliant with AS9100 and familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection Report requirements preferred.
- Ability to apply geometry and trigonometry skills to solve problems and calibrate equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer focus.
- Ability to build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
