Graduate Student Services Program Coordinator

Full Time

JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates IE graduate student support Guides graduate students in navigating resources policies procedures related to contracts enrollment and degree progress Coordinates events and programs to support graduate student success and engagement Serves as registration and room coordinator

JOB DUTIES:
  • 30% - PROGRAM COORDINATION:
    Plans and organizes student centered initiatives, programs, or events (e.g. awards dinners, graduate receptions, prospective graduate student campus visits). Maintains schedule, manages logistics, recruits participants for initiatives, communicates and reports on program outcomes. Attends relevant meetings and serves as a liaison for the department.
  • 15% - GRAD STUDENT CONTRACT MANAGEMENT:
    Manage assistantship contracts and fellowship commitments for graduate students in assigned department. Coordinates with payroll staff to ensure students have completed the necessary steps to be hired. Communicate contract updates with departmental payroll staff.
  • 25% - REGISTRATION COORDINATION:
    Coordinates and manages course schedule development and input of the schedule into the University's scheduling system. Activities include adding/changing sections, managing capacities, adding instructors, adjusting or locating rooms, and setting meeting times. Assists in resolving registration problems including overrides, requesting a closed course, and registration errors. Interfaces with registration services to ensure all University rules and regulations are met.
  • 30% - ACADEMIC PROGRESS:
    Monitor and counsel students on academic progress. Counsels students on University and departmental policies and procedures, engagement opportunities, and personal development. Identifies student issues and refers students to other campus resources as needed. Serves as a key resource to faculty and administrative officers regarding student information and policies. Provides registration support.

Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.

Expected salary range for this position is $45,000 - $53,000.

Supervises Student workers only

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fiscal Responsibilities:
Fiscal responsibilities for the department's budget, including but not limited to, financial planning and managing fund allocation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Stand for Prolonged Period: 15% Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period: 60% Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself: 60%

Expected Salary Range
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Normal Operations - Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
